Not too long ago someone asked me why I don’t do any name that vegetable posts any more. The truth is that I’ve run out of vegetable to name. But I think I may be able to scare some unusual produce in the future.
So, back by popular demand (In this case popular demand is one person asking me about it) is Name That Vegetable. Here is the veggie in question today.
I never understood the point of artichokes–so much work for so little food–but now I think they’re heavenly.
I got this in my vegetable box today. The only reason I know what it is because its name was on the receipt. The question is can you identify this vegetable? If you can, can you tell me how to cook it because I have no idea.
It’s time to play another round of name that vegetable. I got this in my vegetable box last week and had no idea what it was or what to do with it. Before you read any further take a close look and see if you can name this vegetable.
After much investigation (otherwise known as reading the reciept that was inside the box), I figured out that this is a kohl rabi. After some more investigation, I decided to make a delicious curry with it.
We’ve been getting organic vegetables delivered these days. It’s been really good. What’s in the box changes week to week and you never know exactly what to expect.
This week I opened the box and discovered this.
Isn’t it great! The note inside my box said, “Some of you were lucky to receive a Romanesco cauliflower this week.” I thought I was just getting vegetables delivered, but now I feel like I’ve won the lottery–the cauliflower lottery. Okay, maybe that’s not such a great lottery to win.
